More craft time!

I wish that life was kind of like preschool when everyone did arts and crafts ON A DAILY BASIS.
Here at our house, its alllllllllllmost felt like that....

TED is crafting!

Joyce (the resident scrapbook queen) is crafting!

And yes, Sarah is crafting!

So what was I busy making?

special gifts for a czech friends - including earrings for Lenka (thanks to Hanka for delivering them...straight from San Diego to the Czech Republic!)

and a special birthday gift for a one of a kind birthday girl:

yes, another heart-of-light project!
This time it was a belt with lots and lots of ruffles and lace. Perfect for Petrina's 21st birthday. (Thankfully she LOVED it.)

...the only thing that was missing from all our craft times were the slurpees.

Breakfast Club is now called to order.

Literally... ladies, let's place our order because I'm ready to eat! :)

While I am not one of the founders, I am certainly happy to participate. It began as just a bunch of foodies who wanted to check out breakfast places in SD. I think it's evolved a bit since the first one I attended 2 years ago... 12 days after Joyce became Mrs. Park, we reconvened with the hopes of eating good food, catching up and getting to know some of the other ladies from LBC. The regulars were invited and encouraged to bring one "younger" sister along for the morning. It's always fun because everytime I've been (Hash House, Cafe 222, Konos and this time at Cafe 56) it's a REALLY different group.

Seriously, I look forward to them so much! Interestingly enough though, I don't think I took any pictures of the food!

I love the Shih sisters. :)

So happy Mrs. Park was back from her honeymoon.

Feelin' Crafty

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of headbands. Seriously.

I've been saving photos and tutorials like crazy since the fabric flower crazy hit the blogging world. I found this blog that has so many pretty diy projects involving headbands and I finally had time today to try my hand. She's brilliant and the best part... SUPER EASY TO FOLLOW!

Her version was made for her nieces that were to be flower girls.

Here's some fun with my version:

My version upclose. I went with white because that was the color of the material I had lying around that was closest to what was used for heart-of-light's version.

Finally....a model shot.

I was quite pleased with the end product. Which went directly into the hands of Miss Olivia Kim as her 4th birthday present. More crafting to come!

Sweet Summer

In it's joys and its disappointments alike, I think I will always be thankful for this summer.
Always.
