Hanka

Hanni, originally uploaded by Courtney Lynn.
Honestly, Hanka is one of the most beautiful women I know. I have learned so much from how she lives and how she thinks. I don't know if I'll ever be able to really express it. Praise God for Czech sisters who truly have been saved by his grace.

Maui Through My Eyes

(The first one was a shot by my grandfather sometime in the 70's I think...the second one, by me. :) It's not the same spot but after I went through my photos, I just kept thinking about the landscape that was one of my favorites. I am glad that photography runs in the family.)

I took this from a moving car, on the way to our hotel.

I love the sparkling water!

I'm not the only photographer in our family.

(Thanks Green Sunday by Serena Grace!)

A live band was playing music, and their family members danced to their music. I love watching their hula - they were so graceful. This was part of the celebration of the King Kamehameha parade.

This seems almost like a lifetime away...did I really go to Maui this year?
That I did. And of course it was beautiful - as anyone would expect it would be. I think I was trying really hard to see things through a photographer's eyes...and that might be something I would do differently. Instead of looking so feverishly for all those "beautiful moments" this reminded me to just take pictures of what I like, instead of what I think other people will be impressed by. Many people have seen Maui, but it is safe to say that no one will see it through my eyes. Just a thought for today. :)

B

I have photos from Maui, Mel and Wayne's Wedding and of course my second trip to Czech Republic but before that I wanted to post this one of Becky. We were camping by the beach but while the rest of us were sandy and gross, she still looked as gorgeous as ever.

She and I became good friends a little over a year ago. It's amazing considering that I had set my mind against that very thing when I first met her - she was one of the last people I wanted to befriend when after I moved to San Diego. But after a lot of praying (on her half and by our bestest bud Anna), things didn't stay that way. Yet its a testimony to how gracious God is because we have become such close friends since then. I walked off the airplane in August and she was there. With a big hug. We laugh, we cry, we praise God.

Mabel + Kevin = Married!

Mabel & Kevin had a great wedding day...06/07/08 :)
It was one of those weddings when everyone was just soooooo happy to see them tie the knot, finally! Friends were involved at every level (i provided help with the guest book to Joyce Nieh, the guest book expert). Even though I was sitting in the WAY back of the church, (but got to test the limits of a new lens - not bad!) you could see how much everyone was celebrating with M&K - especially all the members of their big wedding party!

Cutest ring bearer - T!

I think the groomsmen cried more than the bridesmaids did. :) They had the hugest smiles on their faces during the whole ceremony.

A was getting lots of attention from the ladies.

Jer + Ser

I know its been so long since I've posted. Life has been speeding by and as I get ready for my trip to Czech Republic in August, time seems to drain away before I can barely make a dent in all that, including new photos! But stay tuned, because I have LOTS of stuff coming soon!

I was so blessed to attend the wedding of two dear friends, Jeremy and Serena back in April. I posted one photo but with such lovely details, I realized that had missed posting about everything else!

The groom wore chucks. LOVE IT!

The bridal party, before the wedding. This is part two of my Westside Wedding post.

The happy couple. :)

The reception was at Union Station. It was an amazing venue! I noticed more and more people are doing engagement shoots there.
