Moving Statues

We were just wandering around a palace in Vienna when we came across this HUGE fountain right in the middle of the gardens.

P. John said "Okay, everyone strike a different pose!"...and strike we did!
If you look closely we can see which statues we're each imitating. Seriously this photo cracks me up - its my desktop wallpaper.

This is is probably my favorite team photo. :)

The Beauty of Czech Republic

...definitely is outdoors. I remember driving to the airport last year, and being struck by how green and lush the trees were. I sighed with happiness as we drove hastily from Vienna to Ostrava and saw even more of the country side but can I just tell you how surprised I was by how beautiful our campsite was? It made a lovely background for the beautiful people at English Camp. :)

{this is post is the first of many on my trip to Czech Republic - stay tuned for more!}.

(The famous sausage hut!)

The view from the windows in our meeting room.

Where the Green Grass Grows

Two girls, running through the fields in Czech Republic. Ok, so all three of us were running through the fields, but I love the lighthearted look to this one.

I am almost done with those photos so look forward to seeing more soon!

Hanka

Hanni, originally uploaded by Courtney Lynn.
Honestly, Hanka is one of the most beautiful women I know. I have learned so much from how she lives and how she thinks. I don't know if I'll ever be able to really express it. Praise God for Czech sisters who truly have been saved by his grace.

Maui Through My Eyes

(The first one was a shot by my grandfather sometime in the 70's I think...the second one, by me. :) It's not the same spot but after I went through my photos, I just kept thinking about the landscape that was one of my favorites. I am glad that photography runs in the family.)

I took this from a moving car, on the way to our hotel.

I love the sparkling water!

I'm not the only photographer in our family.

(Thanks Green Sunday by Serena Grace!)

A live band was playing music, and their family members danced to their music. I love watching their hula - they were so graceful. This was part of the celebration of the King Kamehameha parade.

This seems almost like a lifetime away...did I really go to Maui this year?
That I did. And of course it was beautiful - as anyone would expect it would be. I think I was trying really hard to see things through a photographer's eyes...and that might be something I would do differently. Instead of looking so feverishly for all those "beautiful moments" this reminded me to just take pictures of what I like, instead of what I think other people will be impressed by. Many people have seen Maui, but it is safe to say that no one will see it through my eyes. Just a thought for today. :)

B

IMG_2934, originally uploaded by Courtney Lynn.

I have photos from Maui, Mel and Wayne's Wedding and of course my second trip to Czech Republic but before that I wanted to post this one of Becky. We were camping by the beach but while the rest of us were sandy and gross, she still looked as gorgeous as ever.

She and I became good friends a little over a year ago. It's amazing considering that I had set my mind against that very thing when I first met her - she was one of the last people I wanted to befriend when after I moved to San Diego. But after a lot of praying (on her half and by our bestest bud Anna), things didn't stay that way. Yet its a testimony to how gracious God is because we have become such close friends since then. I walked off the airplane in August and she was there. With a big hug. We laugh, we cry, we praise God.
