There is something about an excellent black and white composition that catches my eye and keeps me staring. It's tricky - I find that there's a thin line between a boring black and a white photograph and something amazing but when you can achieve it, man - AWESOME. What do I think a great b&w photo has? Depth.
As I took pictures at G+D's wedding rehearsal, there were several shots that I took in B&W. I usually bring out the intense colors in my images but I'm working on my b&ws. Hopefully I'll keep improving in this area!

Take Me Out to the Playground!
Last Friday, I had so much fun taking portraits of Ms. Lau's class for their upcoming school auction. This was my second time trying portraits of kids (but I DO love my candid shots) and these were the perfect subjects to shoot! They all took their place at the bottom of the windy perfect slide or climbed up monkey bars and I came home with 21 endearing smiles. Even in the short time I spent with them, I could see their different personalities come through. It was a great day. :)

The Makings of A Wedding
Take a happy couple....
surrounded by their good buddies...
reunited with their families... (i think this was the first time that D's parents were meeting G's whole family!) on such a joyous occasion!
I tagged along to D&G's rehearsal on Friday for their lovely saturday wedding since I would be
missing the ceremony. I was soooooo excited for them - to have their family with them, and to see how much everyone wanted to support them. Though I couldn't be with them on their big day, this was a great consolation. Congratulations D+G!

Mabel & Kevin Part II //Mt. Soledad San Diego
Michelle & Kevin
I headed out to La Jolla cove with another M & K couple... Michelle and Kevin. It was blistering cold that day, but this was one of the last shots of them that I got. We waited forever, but I did actually get what I was imagining in my mind - the water crashing behind them. The bird flying by was just a bonus!

Mabel and Kevin...a sneak peak
I have on good authority that this sequence very well portrays their relationship. :-) This might have been Kevin's favorite part of taking photos - and I can see why!
